Woodworking has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. As a child, I followed my dad everywhere, hammer in hand, eager to help. By the age of ten, I had my own tool apron and was helping frame an addition to our family home. If it wasn’t baseball season, Saturdays meant creating with my dad.
In high school, I discovered the wood lathe — and it changed everything. I was fascinated by how a raw block of wood could be transformed into something beautiful and lasting. That spark never left. Even as life moved quickly, the joy of working with wood remained steady.
Today, every piece I create carries that same childhood passion. I hand-select our materials from two distinct , premium avenues: sustainable, storm fallen, native Virginia hardwoods and rare, globally sourced exotic timbers chosen for their extraordinary natural colors and dense shifting grain lines.
I never use artificial dyes or stains. Instead, I use entirely natural, non toxic finishes - including premium organic wax from our local Charlottesville beeswax purveyor as well as my own bee hives - to highlight each piece's raw, unmistakable beauty. Whether it is a hand turned bowl for your family table or a custom-branded gift for a client, my hope is simple: that you will enjoy using it as much I enjoyed making it.
